christmas break!

this break has been so nice so far. i've been home for about a week and i've been spending a lot of time w/ family and friends.
christmas was amazing and i love the joy and festivity of the season. everyone is happy and i love getting the whole family together. my family is so loud and crazy i really enjoy it, i fit right in :)
for new years i'm going to tahoe and i'm soooo excited.
9 of us are going to tahoe and going snowboarding and i can't wait.
not going to lie, it's been so nice to have tv also haha.
my apartment doesn't have one, so i've been watching too much tv.
so that's about all that's been going on, relaxing and enjoying my time off :)

the beginning of the end

the title of this post is what my roommate used to refer to the end of the semester. now all of my roommates have graduated except me. they're all over achievers and i'm the normal one.
it's weird to see their transition into "adult" life.
they're scared and i'm sure i will be too come may 9th.
it's weird becoming an adult. thankfully i still have another semester before i have to start worrying about stuff like that.
i'm about to go home for a three week Christmas break yay!
it will be so nice to see my family and my boyfriend for 3 weeks. i know i'm not gonna want to come back in January.
so many people in my graduating class are already engaged it's so weird.
everyone is in such a rush to grow up, i dont know why. o well, whatever works for them.
i'm excited to see my fellow chunkiteers over christmas break!
its been fun working with them.
we've been updating chunkit with new features so don't forget to check it out!

end of the semester

so the end of the semester is approaching. its kinda weird. i feel like i'm growing up.
i just registered for classes for the last time, which is sad.
getting out into the real world is intimidating.
hopefully i can survive.
and i've realized how good things happen when you least expect them.
one of life's great surprises.
i'm beginning to realize that no matter what happens things will work out the way they are supposed to.
i'm so blessed to be able to go to college and that my parents saved money for me to be able to attend such a good school.
so many of my friends are getting married and i definitely feel like i'm growing up.
i'm realizing the plans i made for my life may not go exactly the way i planned, but i know everything will work out.
life is amazing and i'm so excited to see what my final semester in college has to bring :]

back to school

so i'm back to school after a two week thanksgiving break.
kinda weird to be back.
i have a lot of work to do before finals week.
the break was so long it felt like it was a christmas break so i shouldn't be studying for finals.
thanksgiving was great though. it was so good to see family and my new boyfriend :]
yay, life is pretty good.
thats all for now.

westmont fire

so last thursday there was a fire at my school. it started in the hills of montecito right behind campus. it came down the hill and hit 3 buildings and 1 dorm on campus. luckily, no one was hurt. all the students were evacuated to the gym. about 50 students lost their dorm rooms, and everything in them. it was really scary. then i was forced to evacuate my apartment which was crazy. i was scared it would burn down so i packed a few bags of stuff and went to my roommate's brothers house in a town about 20 min north of santa barbara. thankfully my apartment was fine, but it was really scary that night. on friday we were able to come back to the apartment. my school is now closed until after thanksgiving, so i have a two week break which is bittersweet. thankfully, the buildings that burned down were ones that were planning on being torn down anyway due to upcoming construction we had scheduled.

here is a link w/ pictures of my school after the fire:

i am just so thankful no one was hurt and no major buildings were damaged. we were really lucky.

adventures of san diego

so this past weekend i went to san diego with some of my rooomates and it was quite an adventure. overall it was really fun, but there are definitely some interesting people in downtown sd. first, a man came up to me and asked for my name and phone number, and when i politely turned him town, he completely freaked out and followed us and cursed at me for a good three blocks. i was told i looked like a hooker, i was a slut, and i was prejudice. i will admit i was kind of scared but then he left me alone so it worked out. then later, we went out dancing and two married men came up and tried to dance with us. we told them we were college students and they proceeded to talk to us and dance with us even though they were easily 30 and married...that was interesting...so it was a fun weekend full of good stories. maybe it's just that weird guys in general are attracted to me haha.

senior year

so, as a senior everyone is starting to ask me what i'm going to do after graduation. the answer i give every time is: i dont know but i'll probably do something in marketing since i've had two jobs in that field and i've enjoyed them. i think people need to realize that seniors don't know what they're going to do until graduation rolls around, sometimes not even until months later. I'm trying to remain optimistic and hope i get multiple job offers so i don't have to move back home with my parents....

my raiders are still failing, only 2 wins this whole season. my hope is fading...

on a side note, i worked for a company this summer called tigerlogic and i promoted this free online search tool called chunkit. it sounds funny but it's actually really helpful for regular and online searching. their website is www.getchunkit.com if you're interested.

until next time....

the raiders.

so the raiders are sucking pretty bad right now. They are 2 and 5 which is pretty bad but i'm staying hopeful. they have a new coach so maybe that will help. everyone says they're worse than the niners, and that may be true for recent seasons, but they have gone to the super bowl more times than the niners and they were the first wildcard team ever to make it to the superbowl. so we'll see how this season goes. i'm not expecting a superbowl appearance but i'm hoping for a decent season. jamarcus russell needs to pull through. the end.
